Israel uber allies

So the US has signed on to a UN criticism of Israel for the first time. No actions, just words. Freepers are pretty sure Obama basically just bombed Israel.

Colorado Cowgirl thinks electing Obama was a sin against God!

“God’s judgment on this country is near.”

We have been under His judgment since 20 January 2009. Has not the United States and the whole world gone downhill since Obozo took office. Nobel Peace Prize my arse! Do they give Nobel Prize for starting a Middle East war?

She then spends the rest of the thread postinf psalms and hymns.

SumProVita knows what is needed - fasting!

A major mistake. God’s judgment on this country is near.”

Indeed! We have the overwhelming curse of abortion and now this.

(shaking head)

Prayer and fasting called for...
this is the last straw for Armaggedon:

We must throw off the yoke of the usurper Obama.
chopperman knows what criticizing Israel is:
This is an overt act of:
Treason
EBH knows liberals are preparing to destroy Israel, and also there will be a draft, for some reason. Gays fit in there somehow as well.
In reading about so many of the progressives that came before him...they didn't so much as 'want war,' as they needed war in order to create their crisis of opportunity. The left and all their peaceniks will be the first ones to volunteer if we side against Israel in a war.

Why did they work so hard to allow homosexuality in the service? Because there is a draft coming...wait and see. The democrats were pushing for a draft back in 2004(?) that the republicans challenged them on and shut-down at that time. The wording of the bill is already written and waiting in the wings.

Republicans hold the House, but do they have the will to do the moral thing, when the time comes? This will be enough to throw our Nation into civil war. For those who know and see prophecy in these events...realize there is more than their mortal lives at stake.
CottShop:
Way to go Obama- Keep ignoring God- it’ll do wonders for America when God completely abandons us to our sin and indiffere3nce towards Him- What a leader!

  1. Well, if it upsets the Freepers it must have been the right thing to do!

  2. @ euphgeek,

No, the UN "rights commission" and the UN in general is a joke. When Libya gets to criticize the US on human rights and Zimbabwe is elected to chair the committee on sustainable development, we can see what a farce the UN has become. US taking the UN side against Israel is a slap in the face of our ally. I agree that Freepers are nuts but even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while.

  3. No, I think the idea that we must agree with Israel at all times no matter what is fundamentally wrong. Would we support them if they decided to commit genocide against Palestinians or declare war against another country unprovoked? I think that we have to be Israel's friend and sometimes being a friend means to tell your friend that they're wrong. This is regardless of how much of a joke you think the UN is.

  4. @ euphgeek,

"Palestinians" danced on the streets on 9/11 and are not pro-US. They hate us, and love radical Islamic outfits like Hamas and Hezbollah. My sympathy quotient for them is low. Israel has not committed any genocide, the last time I checked.

  5. Legitimizing the UN as a place to criticize Israel does indeed have more lasting effects than one might at first think.

On the other hand, Israel's policies with the settlements, and flaunting our entreaties about them, does not leave us with much of a choice if we want to have anything like a peace process.

As for Palestine's moral authority, it is indeed low (though I hesitate to impute a general attitude towards a people). But neither is Israel's, after that wikileaks thing. Anyhow, making foreign policy choices based on moral standing is not a good idea - see England in the early 20th century.

In the end, it's a helluva mess, no one is coming out clean, and I suspect all of us will be proven wrong in hindsight somehow.

  6. Just because Palestinians danced in the streets on 9/11 doesn't mean their lives are worth less. Who was it that said, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you?" That's not to say, of course, that we should turn against Israel or make Palestinians our friends. I'm just saying that a policy of "Israel, right or wrong" is not a good one.

Also, signing on with the UN on this occasion is not necessarily a bad thing, since "even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while." ;)
