Imagining Freepers as students

It looks like the strike in Wisconsin means that schools will be open an extra 20 minutes a day for a while. Freepers have decided this is awful. And they fantasize about what they would do if they were students in this school:

Doogle does not assume the children are little Freepers. He's pretty sure they're Nazis:

...wonder how the brainwashed little brown shirts feel about this....YOU CAN THANK YOUR TEACHERS nitwits!
Richard Kimball would stop trusting his teacher:

Those Wisconsin teachers are SO fortunate I’m not a student there. My first question to them when they got back in the classroom would be, “So where’s your credibility now? Why shouldn’t a student cut classes and write phony excuses? You did!”

Which opens the door to a discussion about unions and strikes. Awesome plan.

newzjunkey has a plan:

The kids should go on strike and chant, “I was here, where were you?,” for those 20 min every single day. Parents could join in.
Education is clearly less important than political grandstanding!

digger48 wishes for some student activism:

I hope the little crumb-crunchers spread the word through the halls as to just why they are staying an extra 20 minutes in school on nice spring days and who exactly who it was that caused it.
And I hope they make those extra 20 minutes a living hell for the teachers that the students know walked out on their jobs.
crz

I wish I was in school again. I’d make those minutes seem like hours.
Somehow I think crz didn't need a political excuse to be a dick to his teachers back in the day.

KrisKrinkle reminds us this 20 minute change has huge effects:

It’s not just the students and teachers schedules affected. There are the bus drivers, the parents, sitters, the buses and pickups happening later might even affect traffic patterns.
Twenty minutes are all that stand between us and MASS CHAOS!

RetiredTexasVet is sure the teachers are going to waste the 20 minutes, since they all suck and have no professionalism at all:
Do you really think the teachers are going to do anything beyond the contracted number of hours daily? They’ll stand around and pick their noses, grouse about the Governor, or otherwise waste the time.

  1. It seems to be a right-wing meme that all education sucks and should be rejected. After all, those book-sellers have an agenda to make money! Who cares what the facts are? They all have a liberal bias anyway!
