Newt's turn

It seems Newt Gingrich is leading in the GOP primary polls. Most Freepers are still up on Cain, but there are some who support this new-old Dark Horse. Cause this Newt is new and improved:

CynicalBear knows Catholicism makes you stop cheating on your wives:
I have seen a dramatic change since he began proclaiming his faith.
moonhawk also thinks religious Newt is gonna be awesome:

How many of us realize Newt has had a religeous conversion (to the Catholic Church), in 2009 I think? Many FReepers seem to think that Jesus died for their sins, but not for Newt’s, or that their own repentance was more sincere than Newt’s. I am not one of those.

I have had to repent of some very painful stuff in my own life, and I must assume that Newt’s conversion and repentance are as genuine as my own.

I think Newt may be capable of sparking a great American political revival.

knarf sees some flaws, like being photographed with Nancy Pelosi:
Hmmm ... It IS interesting that someone with no money and an apparently obvious distaste for politics as usual and the whoreing lamestream media is getting such face time.

I remember the earlier 'debates' didn't have a lot of Newt, but the few times he spoke, he commanded attention.

Personally, I want Newt to denounce a few things .. pelosi's couch and a few others.

His daughter has put to rest the dieing wife divorce story, so ... maybe Newt IS viable.

I'm glad we still have a year.
CynicalBear thinks Newt is a saviour cause of his gravitas:
I think Newt could well be just the right guy to help bring the GOP party back to what it is supposed to be.

Of course he’s not perfect but he would have the gravitas to begin a process that could be followed up on and he would sure be an example of taking a stand against not only the media but the stupid far left as well.

He may just be the right one to put some shame into GOP party to start to stand for something. He certainly is the only one to explain things that even the media seems to have a hard time arguing with.
I have no idea what caww is saying.

Newt’s been “educating” the public at every debate..as well as the candidates themselves. Remarkable how he is bringing along those who would have never thought they’d consider him...but then most have never learned why we are where we at and what can be done to turn the tide.

JimInMO knows Newt is the man for moral leadership.
he seems willing—in fact, desirous—and very able to go beyond answers/conclusions. He has the inclination toward education and thinking.

Isn’t that EXACTLY what we need with a general population so long and so poorly served in their educational experiences that so many seem to have so little understanding of our roots, self-reliant culture, and form of government?

After all, our Founding Fathers often stated that this unique form of government requires both an EDUCATED and MORAL citizenry. Otherwise, it will not work.

  1. The bloom is starting to come off the rose that is Herman Cain. After his Libya answer, Freepers seem very conflicted and are starting to fight among themselves:

  2. That was what, 3 weeks of Cain support? At this rate they'll run out of Candidates to support by February!
