Freeper principles - defeat Obama

Paul Ryan has been in the Congress for quite a while. That'll take the idealistic sheen off a guy. For instance, he voted for TARP.

Most Freepers, though, aren't actually idealists, they are ideologues. First order of business is to defeat Obama, who cares what Romney's or Ryan's principles?
In fact, they've been at this so long they hardly bother to try to fool themselves about Ryan's vote for TARP:

RobbyS knows this is war:
In a war, you don’t always get to have the choices you want.
liberty or death agrees - business is too serious to care about the issues:
Politics is war. Sacrifice, anguish & suffering and in the end you pray for the glorious win.
mick takes the same refuge, but he has a particular war in mind:
Sometimes in a war you have to retreat and bide your time until you can get a clear show at the enemy - think Sam Houston retreating before Santa Anna after the fall of the Alamo until he caught the Mexican Army and destroyed it. If you read Ryan’s answer he is a very astute politician who understands what is possible and what is tilting at windmills
Da Bilge Troll is just nakedly driven by spite:
This stuff bothers me. But then I think, "Barak Obama hates this guy" and I feel better.

  1. Ah yes, Sam Houston: hero of Texas.

"Houston continued his retreat eastward towards the Gulf coast, drawing criticism for his perceived lack of willingness to fight. On March 29 [1836], camped along the Brazos River, two companies refused to retreat further, and Houston decided to use the opportunity for rudimentary training and discipline of his force."
