Birtherist nihilism

Ted Cruz was born in Canada, and his father was not a citizen. Ann Coulter isn't sure whether he can run for office. This thread goes places. It starts with hating Coulter, moves on to how easy it is to be a Natural Born Citizen, and ends deep in the birther weeds. On the way, we get a number of amazingly bitter, outcome-oriented posts that make it as clear as possible that Freepers have no principles beyond tear down the Other.

But first, I cannot resist posting Sirius Lee's amazing insult at Ann Coulter:
Her horse like lingam is growing turgid for the fat jersey slob again.
I like the migration of the lowest of liberal smears on Free Republic once you fall from grace, but the use of Indian terms for genetalia makes this comment mesmerizing.

Arthur McGowan explains that Obaam lied, and until everyone believes it nothing matters:
Obama has produced three forged documents, the “certification of live birth,” the “birth certificate,” and the “draft registration,” and locked up everything else.

Ted Cruz has produced no forgeries.

I will care that Cruz was born in Canada and had a non-citizen father when Obama is put in jail for his forgeries, for fraudulently collecting a federal salary, and for his usurpation of a federal office.
BfloGuy just asserts what he wants:
The English common law at the time of the signing of the Constitution would have held that Cruz is a "natural-born" citizen. His father had renounced allegiance to Cuba and was seeking American citizenship.

The point was loyalty -- not a document.
St_Thomas_Aquinas knows it's all about natural law - i.e. whatever he likes:
There are many issues I take the high road on, but on this one - I’m all for Cruz at this point. Since the term, “natural born citizen” doesn’t seem to have one true meaning - and since this country elected an American-hating man for 2 terms, yeah, I’m willing to give Cruz the benefit of the doubt on this issue.

I'm with you.

If in doubt, revert to natural law. In this case, I see no difficulty.
DiogenesLamp has decided laws mean nothing, though he will post walls of text about them:
We are so deep in the twilight zone now that "legal" is proof of nothing. Ever hear of Obamacare? And here we all thought slavery had been made illegal.
P-Marlowe knows "natural born" means "Freeper."
After the pass given to Obama, the “natural born citizen” clause is no longer relevant.

The “Natural Born Citizen” clause was intended to avoid the possibility that a president like Obama would have divided loyalty.

I have no doubt that Ted Cruz does not have a divided loyalty. Ted Cruz is the most Loyal All American person in the Senate and the most All American potential candidate out there.

We need a president who represents and defends the Values and beliefs that made America a once great nation. Ted Cruz represents those values. In that sense, you can’t find a candidate out there who is more naturally born an American that Ted Cruz.

  2. Obama was really born in Hawaii, and his mother was a US citizen. That makes Obama a Natural Born Citizen. The citizenship of his father is irrelevant. The fact that he was born in Hawaii is important, and he did not show any forged birth certificates. Only nutty "birther experts" have claimed that they are forged. The officials of BOTH parties in Hawaii have repeatedly stated that they sent the short form and long form to Obama and that ALL the facts on the one published by the White House are exactly the same, repeat, exactly the same, as on what they sent to him.

    2. To Anonymous:

If you really believe that Obama COULD have been born outside the USA, that there was a reasonable possibility that he was born outside of the USA, then you could answer this question:

For Obama to have been born in a foreign country:

      (1) Obama’s relatives would have had to have been rich enough (and they weren’t. In 1961 Obama’s grandfather was a furniture salesman, and his grandmother was a low-level employee in a bank [she did not become a vice president until 1971], and his father went from Kenya to Hawaii on a free flight) and dumb enough to send their daughter at high risk of stillbirth to a foreign country to give birth—-—despite there being fine hospitals in Hawaii;

      (2) Obama’s mother would have had to have traveled overseas ALONE (since WND has proven with a FOI Act request that Obama senior stayed in Hawaii throughout 1961) and somehow got Obama back to the USA without getting him entered on her US passport or getting a visa for him (which would have had to have been applied for in a US consulate in that country and the records would still exist);

      (3) got the officials in Hawaii to record his birth in Hawaii despite (as birthers claim) his being born in another country and somehow got the teacher who wrote home to her father, named Stanley, about the birth in Hawaii of a child to a woman named Stanley to lie (and since the woman’s father’s name really was Stanley, she would have had to have found one of the very few women with fathers of that name to do it).

If you sincerely believe that Obama could have been born in a foreign country, then you could answer all three points. For Obama to have been born in a foreign country, all three would have had to have happened.

So, the question is, what are the chances that all three happened?

    3. 1) Obviously George Soros funded the trip because he required a future president to be born in a foreign country.

      2) Obama's mother smuggled him back into the country after giving birth and after she had his grandmother use her inside banking connections to get his birth certificate forged with the health department.

      3) All the Hawaii officials and his teacher were in on the whole scam. They knew from birth that he would someday be president, so they covered everything up and made sure that no one would ever leak the information.

This is pretty much what birthers believe. Nothing will ever deter them.

    4. Nicely put.

But that is by no means all. Did you know that birthers have not even shown that Obama's mother had a passport in 1961 (nor have they admitted to their readers that very very few 18-year-olds had passports in 1961)? And, they have not told their readers how extremely few women traveled abroad in the last few months of pregnancy in 1961 due to the high risk of stillbirths.

Yet, they hope that rational people will believe that Obama's mother was one of the few 18-year-olds to have a passport and one of the EXTREMELY few women who traveled abroad during the last few months of pregnancy, and that all the officials in Hawaii are lying.

    5. Of course. But just because no passport has been found doesn't mean that there was no passport in the minds of birthers. And Hawaii has actually "indirectly confirmed" (an actual legal term in the birtherverse) that Obama was not born there, that his BC was amended and that all BCs for August 1961 were forged.

    1. Well, a blogger reproduced many of the supposed anomalies found in the PDF file released by a White House through some investigation work on what printer could have been used (Xerox Workcentre). Her reaction upon seeing many things that the Cold Case Posse had rejected as impossible was to demand a Xerox Workcentre that wasn't hooked up to the interwebs because Obama's thugs probably have reprogrammed them all.

Yup, a pretty insane Rube Goldberg plan but that's par for the course for BZ.

  5. I'm so old, I remember when Freeper types wanted to add an amendment to the Constitution getting rid of that silly "Natural Born Citizen" rule. (Arnold Schwarzenegger.) It didn't bother them that McCain was born in Panama, and it doesn't bother them that Cruz was born in Canada. Of course it doesn't. They're not black, or Democrats.

  6. Six years later, and the birther brigade has yet to produce a single piece of evidence that Obama was born anywhere but Hawaii.

Buckhead did a great job exposing Rathergate, but he opened a can of worms. Now everyone on FR is an amateur Magnum PI, with no facts or reason, but a lot of crackpot conspiracy theories.

Best of all, the burden of proof never falls on them. It's always up to the other guy to prove that Obama ISN'T a homosexual crack-smoking communist Muslim from Kenya.
