Go Roy Moore!

A commenter mentioned he (or she) was eager to see Freepers slobber over Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore's order to not allow gay marriage, over a Federal Court's ruling.

Thing is, Moore isn't catching fire. I suspect because he's not running for anything much, and so lacks utility.

Nevertheless, the combo of a personality and yet another gay marriage defeat does inspire some new amusing impotent flailings.

Rappini is a fan:
God Bless Roy Moore of Alabama.
Cedar knows the danger:
Judge Moore trying to hold off Sodom and Gomorrha. Thank you, Judge Moore. We stand with you!
smoothsailing wants Christian Sharia:
Roy Moore is right and federal judges are fools to ignore God's Law.
fatnotlazy is the only one to assume persecution.
The judge should expect his IRS audit letter any day now.
No discussions of Moore's coming assassination. Freep is losing it's touch!

grobdriver may not be clear on how Democracy works...
[Alabama Governer:] I will not take any action against Probate Judges, which would only serve to further complicate this issue.”

Oh, dear - we wouldn't want to do the right thing if it complicates the issue...

Fire the probate judges - and then fire this bonehead Governor.
GodAndCountryFirst turns to the balm of all crazy right-wingers, the all-powerful sheriff:
If the probate courts don’t do their jobs, then state law still needs to be enforced. That’s where county sheriffs come in. The sheriffs can send deputies out to monitor courthouses and arrest any judges who violate state law.
NormsRevenge continues to posit Civil War 2 over gay marriage:
How far do they go?

Stay Tuned and Stock up on popcorn and ammo. :-)
Genoa has sussed out that the gay marriage struggle is really about acceptance. The fiends!
this is not about same-sex "marriage" per se, but about normalizing perversion and removing any means whereby it can be limited or penalized under law.
i_robot73 has this amazing comment:
Ultimately, the Constitution should be the 1st citation required in ALL cases. Failing to do so would negate any further discussion, case closed; anything else supporting....It would definitely whittle down the case load I’d suspect.

Unfortunately, we have lawyers and judges (I repeat myself) whom build upon the crap that is known as ‘case law’, on the presumption that the same was valid to begin.
Then Amendment10 shows up to pee on everyone's cornflakes:
based on how he failed to argue 10th Amendment for his Ten Commandments display, Judge Moore sounds to me like a “flag, motherhood and apple pie” patriot who really doesn’t know how to substantiate his assertions with the Constitution and its history.

  1. If Freepers (And the rest of the Anti-Gay lobby) marriages are so weak that they'll become meaningless because some Gay people get married, they weren't worth shit to begin with.

I've yet to see the mandatory marriages of straight white Christians to Gay people, I guess it's not really being forced on anyone.

    1. The "cake" is equal marriage rights for all, even in Alabama.
The "icing on the cake" is watching Roy Moore getting slammed yet again.

It used to be a time when someone posted a duplicate was reminded and gently reprimanded. Now if someone - like yourself - points out the obvious, you get flamed

And there was a time when the mods removed or locked a dupe thread. For the very reasons you mention.

Now? Now it’s common to see 6-8 threads on a single issue in just a few hours. Someone gets up - sees a story on Drudge or similar site - and FReeps it. With nary a look to see that there are previous threads with 50-100 replies on them.

Mods don’t care. And Jim? Too busy running FReepathons.

    1. And each of the duplicate threads has at least 1/3 of the posts repeating the same lame snark. If a Muslim gets killed "Good start", if it involves racism " That's Raciss " they're pathetic and not very original.

    3. Ah ... fine sass from one of FR's most prolific posters!

Jimcompoop too busy running freepathons ... ha ha ha ha ha.
And even that isn't going very well, the last scoreboard shows FR continues to hemorrhage monthly donors ...

    4. The latest creep o thon thread cites the many woes of the wrinkle bag brigade and Onyx bemoans how hard it is to post the same five .gif photos for two months straight. Also the word mandatory pops up.

    6. It actually started out as an android induced duble post, but I figured it illustrated the point better if I left it up. :)

  3. I should try writing briefs and citing only to "The Constitution." Should I cite to the real one, or the imaginary one Freepers wrote?

    1. The Freeper constitution is a secret document, not actually written, but passed down verbally like a bad game of post office. Each retelling causes it to become more and more fascist.

    1. That, My friend is a freeper in a nutshell. It's funny how often stories in The Onion are more accurate than people think.
