And Now This Word from Outer Space

Tthere will be 2 Scalia posts later today, and a bunch more next Monday (tomorrow is already in the bag) but I wanted to share this gem ASAP.
The USSC started out with 1 Chief and 5 Justices for a long time. I seem to recall an FDR plan, called the “Court Packing Plan” where he wanted up to 15 justices + chief. Somewhere they added three more to create an odd number.

AFAIK, Obama getting his pick of three of nine IS court packing and I will not stand for it. I don’t care what we have to do to stop this, but we most certainly must.

  1. FDR (attempted) court packing in '37 was real enough, but the rest of the history lesson is grossly abridged and the conclusion is ridiculous.
